HAMLIN, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – A suspect was arrested after an hours-long standoff in Hamlin Wednesday afternoon.

Andy Flores Jr. was taken into custody following the standoff at a home on Avenue H.

The incident began at 2:48 p.m. when officers with several agencies, including the Jones County Sheriff’s Office, the Sweetwater Police Department, the U.S. Marshals Service, and the Game Wardens, were called to assist the Hamlin Police Department with serving warrants against Flores.

Flores was wanted in multiple counties for crimes like Domestic Violence, Aggravated Assault, and Failure to Appear.

Hamlin police told KTAB and KRBC Flores barricaded himself in the attic of the home for at least 2 hours before coming outside, where he was arrested on the outstanding warrants.

A female suspect was also arrested at the home for Harboring a Fugitive. She has not been publicly identified.

It’s unknown if Flores was considered armed or dangerous. No injuries have been reported in connection to his arrest.

A heavy police presence was in the area during the active standoff.
