Pizza delivery driver robbed near UChicago campus

CHICAGO — A pizza delivery driver was robbed at gunpoint near the University of Chicago campus Wednesday night.

Officers responded to the 1500 block of East 62nd Street after 9:10 p.m. on the report of an armed robbery.

Police believe a pizza delivery driver was confronted by five suspects with one armed with a handgun.

The suspects took the pizzas and fled on foot.

The University of Chicago said in a crime bulletin that CPD is investigating the case.

This marks the third robbery near UChicago’s campus in the last week.

A person walking through Stout Park was confronted by four suspects, including one with a gun, in the 5400 block of South Greenwood at around 9:35 p.m. Friday.

Two people were walking Monday at around 4:25 p.m. in the 5700 block of South Kimbark when they were approached by four suspects.
