Derek Weaver, 28, was charged Wednesday with criminal attempted homicide, aggravated assault, and related charges, according to State Police at Schuylkill Haven.
Troopers said they were called to the 100 block of West Laurel Street in Tremont around 12:30am early Wednesday for a report of shots fired.
There, troopers said someone fired a shotgun, striking a vehicle and its occupant, a 30-year-old man.
Troopers accused Weaver of the shooting and he was arraigned by on-call Magisterial District Judge James Reiley, Pottsville, and committed to Schuylkill County Prison, unable to post $75,000 straight cash bail.
Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call the State Police Schuylkill Haven Criminal Investigation Unit at 570-754-4600.
