Sanderson is a highly acclaimed author, selling 34 million copies worldwide and landing on the New York Times Best Seller list 15 times. He’s known for popular series such as “Mistborn” and “Stormlight Archive,” as well as novels “Tress of the Emerald Sea,” “Skyward,” and “Steelheart.”
A BYU alumnus himself, Sanderson teaches popular creative writing classes at the university to aspiring authors. He’s been a frequent guest at FanX, and the convention said they’re excited to have him return.
“We feel extremely blessed and lucky to have him,” said Chelsie Stoker, FanX marketing coordinator. “He only does 3-4 events a year, one of them being his own…We are very lucky to have him attend this event, and him returning goes to show how great our fans here are.”
Fans will be able to meet and get autographs at Sanderson’s Dragonsteel booth. Stoker said it will run the same as last year, with the options of “Traditional” and “Lightning.” Although the event is free, she said it requires a reservation — and to keep in mind that last year, reservations filled up quickly. Sign ups will be out in about a month, she said.
With “Traditional” signings, fans may have one book personalized and up to three additional books signed. “Lightning” allows a signing of one book per person. You must have a valid FanX badge for the day of your reservation.
Only one reservation per person for any of his autograph sessions will be permitted for the duration of the convention.
FanX will run from Sept. 25 – 27 this year, with tickets available online.
Other authors announced so far include Natalie C. Parker, Kelly Knox, Sarah Henning, Clayton Sandell, and Tessa Gratton.
