Deadly crash involving semi, car on I-65 in Boone County

BOONE COUNTY, Ind. – A deadly crash closed part of southbound I-65 in Boone County.

According to the Boone County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened near mile marker 149 about six miles north of Lebanon.

Indiana State Police confirmed a fatality and said the crash involved a semi and a passenger vehicle.

The Indiana Department of Transportation initially said all southbound lanes were closed.

By 9:20 a.m., the right lane had reopened while the left lane remained closed, according to INDOT.

The crash remains under investigation. The sheriff’s office said drivers should avoid the area if possible.
