Yellow Line service temporarily suspended due to obstruction on the tracks

CHICAGO (WGN) — Yellow Line riders faced some delays early Wednesday morning after an obstruction on the tracks temporarily suspended service.

According to an update provided by the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) around 5:32 a.m., Yellow Line service has been temporarily suspended due to an obstruction at Dodge.

The CTA advised riders to consider other service alternatives, such as the #97

Skokie buses.

Additionally, the CTA said shuttle buses are available from Dempster-Skokie to Howard to provide connecting service in both directions because of the delay.

The CTA said they are working to restore service, though it is unclear how long the delays are expected to last or what exactly caused the obstruction.
