Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives were dispatched to a local high school to meet with the victim, who disclosed she was raped by a man, identified as Gerard O. Bazile, 22, Lake Charles. The victim further stated the sexual abuse had been occurring since approximately 2017.
Authorities say the suspect confirmed the allegations to the detectives. He was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with aggravated crimes against nature.
His bond was set at $1.5 million.
An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. A person is innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
