More flex/warehouse spaces could be coming near the Provo Bay neighborhood — near 3185 West and 550 South — but the area would need to be rezoned first.
The plan is to build a new 31,753-square-foot building divided into five leasable/sellable spaces with parking and landscaping around the building.
“I own two of the three in front of it, it’s being annexed into that, the flex warehouses spaces, all rented, and I have interest in selling half of this one if it goes through,” Pilling told ABC4.com.
Access would be shared with existing flex spaces to the east that are already developed.
“They will look the same in the HOA bylaws, we don’t rent to cabinet shops, they’re all online retailers down there right now,” Pilling said.
The property to the west contains some vacant land, some rental homes owned by the city, and some agricultural houses. The land to the north is agricultural, and the east is existing flex space.
The property owner is hoping to change the zoning of his land to help the airport grow. ABC4.com previously spoke to neighbors who are opposed to the project, worried about the effect on the neighborhood, but no one spoke out in opposition tonight.
