Magee mayor won’t seek re-election due to health concerns

MAGEE, Miss. (WJTV) – The mayor of Magee announced that he will no longer seek re-election.

Mayor Dale Berry made the announcement during Tuesday’s board meeting. Berry said he will not seek re-election due to health concerns.

“I’m very proud of the work we’ve done over the past eight years. We haven’t had any tax increases, and the city of Magee has really grown. I thank everyone for their support and prayers,” said Berry.

Berry was first elected as mayor in 2017. His last day on the job will be on June 30.

The Municipal General Election will be held on June 3, 2025.
