TUESDAY NIGHT/OVERNIGHT: Breezy and cool with showery spells continuing, perhaps an isolated thunderstorm in spots. Winds: East 12-25 mph. Low: 48.
Another damp, dreary day is on tap Wednesday as a slow-moving low pressure system traverses the metro area and moves into the Ohio Valley Wednesday afternoon.
Showers will be fairly light and sporadic, with noticeable gaps in between the rain, but the predominantly overcast skies will prevail yet again.
Temperatures will hold fairly steady throughout the day in the lower to middle 50s, a far cry from the low 70s that are typical for this time of year.

Looking Ahead
May’s warming trend
Average highs at O’Hare International Airport trend into the low 70s by the third week of May, so this week will be considerably cooler than normal.
Temps do perk up by the end of the week as we head into Memorial Day weekend and the unofficial start of summer, but as of now, things look to remain cooler than normal around Chicagoland through May.
