HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — Days after a tornado ripped through parts of Union County, residents are left confused when a tornado warning was sent out on Monday.

The message was sent on Monday afternoon via text message at 2:15 p.m., followed by a message stating, “Disregard the Tornado Warning.”

According to the Union County Judge Executive’s Office, the warning that was issued is a “false alarm.”

Union County Emergency Management took to social media to confirm that there is no tornado in the area.

“We are trying to find out why that went out. I’m on phone with NWS,” said EMA officials.

This is a developing story.
