SHREVEPORT, La. – A woman is now in the custody of Shreveport Police Department (SPD) after officers say she fought both her daughter, and the police officers.
On May 16, 2025, around 5:00 p.m., Shreveport Police officers responded to a reported dispute at a residence in the 7300 block of Altus Loop.
Upon arrival, officers discovered that Quashayvea Washington had been involved in a physical altercation with her adult daughter.
Washington became increasingly aggressive and began physically swinging her arms at two officers. She then shoved one officer into a glass window.
In response to the escalating violence, another officer deployed a taser to safely bring Washington under control.
After being taken into custody, Washington was transported to a local hospital for evaluation.
She has since been charged with one count of domestic abuse battery, two counts of battery on a police officer, and two counts of resisting an officer with force or violence.
This incident remains under investigation.
