POCATELLO — The EastIdahoNews.com team is highlighting different jobs in our area, and today, we’re Workin’ It as a librarian at the Portneuf District Library in Chubbuck.

The library, tucked away in a neighborhood at 5210 Stuart Avenue, serves patrons in both Chubbuck and Pocatello. While the library offers a variety of board games, DVDs and even activity kits, most people know it for its huge selection of books.

I had the chance to step into the role of a librarian and learn how a book is prepared to be put on the shelf, how to check it out to a patron and what happens to it when its time at the library has come to an end.

The library is open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday. The library is closed on Sunday and Wednesday.

To learn more about everything the library offers, visit its website.
