Barricaded man hurls pottery at Fairfield officers: PD

(KRON) — Fairfield Police Department officers responding Sunday to a domestic dispute were met with planter pots and pottery raining down upon them by a man who had barricaded himself inside an apartment, according to authorities.

Officers were dispatched just before midnight to the 2900 block of North Texas Street on the report of a man and a woman in a verbal dispute at an apartment complex parking lot. While officers were talking to the woman outside, the man threw a planter pot from the apartment balcony, police said.

The man, who was not identified, allegedly threatened to fight the officers and said he was armed. He continued to throw pots, pottery and planter boxes down from the balcony, according to FPD.

Officers entered the apartment while the man was on the phone with dispatch, police said. The man initially fled into the bathroom where he surrendered to the officers.

The man was booked at the county jail for assault and resisting arrest.
