Llovana Torres, 26, faces one felony count of aggravated battery to a child.
According to Chicago police, the incident unfolded around 8 a.m. Saturday inside a residence in the 1700 block of West Touhy Avenue in Rogers Park.
Officers said the vicitm, a 7-year-old boy, was inside the home when he was approached by the woman who pulled out a sharp object and stabbed him.
The child suffered a puncture wound to his abdomen and was taken to the hospital, where he was listed in fair condition.
Police said Torres was arrested about two hours later in Evanston after being identified as the offender who stabbed the boy.
Torres is scheduled to a appear in court Monday.
