Texarkana police investigating shooting at Village Park South Apartments

TEXARKANA, Tx. (KTAL/KMSS) — The Texarkana Police Department is currently investigating a shooting incident.

The incident occurred on Sunday, May 18, at approximately 8:50 p.m. when officers were dispatched to the Village Park South Apartments located at 2225 East Street. According to the press release, police received multiple reports of gunfire and a potential victim near the back of the complex. Upon their arrival, sheriff’s deputies assisted a wounded individual, identified as 19-year-old Randy Page. Officers also received reports of another shooting victim at an EZ Mart located at 1205 East Street. This led to an investigation into whether the two incidents were related.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a second gunshot victim, identified as 21-year-old Artaja Mitchell. They also found a third individual, 20-year-old Scirs Purifory, who was arrested on unrelated charges. Both victims were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
