Arrest made after chase and Taser deployment at Rockford liquor store

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Rockford Police apprehended Datrevion Douglas, 22, at a Rockford liquor store Saturday afternoon. Douglas was wanted for running from police during a previous encounter.

According to the Rockford Police Department, patrol officers spotted Douglas at South Main Food and Liquor, at 1321 S. Main Street, around 2 p.m.

As Douglas exited the store, he ran from officers and was chased, Tasered, and taken into custody, police said.

A loaded handgun and marijuana were found in his possession, according to law enforcement.

He was charged with unlawful use of a weapon by a felon, resisting arrest, fleeing to elude, and possession of cannabis.

Douglas was booked into the Winnebago County Jail pending the outcome of a pretrial detention hearing.
