Alexandria graduation party shooting under investigation by Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office

ALEXANDRIA, La. (WNTZ) — Deputies with the Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office are investigating a shooting that occurred late Saturday night during a graduation party in Alexandria.

According to RPSO, at approximately 11:45 p.m. on May 17, off-duty deputies working a private security detail at a graduation celebration in the 200 block of Bolton Avenue responded to reports of shots fired in the parking lot as the event was concluding.

Deputies located a vehicle that had been struck by gunfire. No injuries were reported.

Despite speaking with several partygoers, deputies were unable to identify or locate a suspect due to limited cooperation and information.

Sheriff’s detectives and the Crime Scene Unit responded to the scene to gather physical evidence. Authorities say the case remains an active and ongoing investigation.

Anyone with video footage or information related to the incident is urged to contact Detective John Deville at the Criminal Investigation Division (318-473-6727), the RPSO main office (318-473-6700), or Crime Stoppers (318-443-7867).
