Strong wind topples tree near Oracle Park
(KRON) — Powerful wind gusts up to 37-mph took out a tree on San Francisco’s 3rd Street between Townsend and Brannan streets near Oracle Park Saturday afternoon.

The toppled tree is affecting traffic on 3rd street and downed SF Muni lines in the area, the San Francisco Fire Department stated on social media.

“A large tree has [fallen] on 3rd Street blocking all traffic,” SFFD said. “High winds have pushed the tree down on muni wires posing an electrical hazard.”

San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency workers are on scene working to correct the issue. The 30, 45 and 15 bus routes are rerouting around the area. PG&E is responding to the scene.

Gusty winds up to 45 mph are possible in the Bay Area through the weekend, the National Weather Service predicts. Strong wind gusts are forecast to linger in the area into Tuesday.
