More than 300 classic, custom, and vintage vehicles beautified the streets of Old Town Clovis for the annual event, but this year’s show was about much more than bringing together car enthusiasts – it was also about honoring local veterans.
Organizers say they raised $20,000; this year, the proceeds will be donated to the Central Valley Honor Flight, a nonprofit that flies local veterans to Washington, D.C., to visit the memorials dedicated to their service.
“We’re proud to support such an important cause,” said President of Hot Rods Fresno Bill Faught. “The Honor Flight program gives back to the heroes who gave so much for our country, and we’re honored to be part of that mission.”
Last year, the non-profit hot rod club gave to the Leukemia Lymphoma Society; they have also donated to Hinds Hospice, the Society for the Blind, and Make-A-Wish.
A check presentation will be made during Clovis’ City Council meeting on Monday at 6 p.m.
