
According to the National Weather Service, an EF-0 tornado was on the ground for one minute in Collings Lakes, New Jersey. The Atlantic County twister was on the ground between 12:52 p.m. – 12:53 p.m. and traveled half a mile.
An EF-0 tornado is defined as having maximum winds of 65-85 miles per hour.
The NWS survey notes that damage was first reported along Malaga Road with large tree branches coming down. Winds even peeled off some metal roof sheeting on a building. Damage continued near the intersection of Cains Mill Road and Colton Lane.
The entire region was blanketed with a severe thunderstorm watch on Friday.
An NWS survey team is headed to Atlantic County to further examine the storm damage.
