The Storm Prediction Center indicates that we will have a slight severe weather risk over mainly the northern half of the area. Above is a loop of tomorrow’s SPC forecasts. You will notice that there is a chance of seeing up to 2” hail. The tornado risk with Saturday’s storms is looking very low.
Futurecast shows the storms developing to the west of the ArkLaTex Saturday afternoon. They will move through mainly the northern half of the area during the evening, and will probably begin to weaken after sunset. The severe weather threat will likely end before midnight.
Rain will be limited over much of the area, and it’s possible that some locations stay dry from now through Saturday night. On the other hand, hi-res models show that we will likely see scattered locations receive one to over two inches of rain. We will take a break from the threat of storms over most of the area on Sunday and Monday. A cold front will bring another severe weather threat on Tuesday.
