OSU’s Arquette, Turley semifinalists for Dick Howser Trophy

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association have announced that Oregon State baseball stars Aiva Arquette and Gavin Turley are semifinalists for the Dick Howser Trophy on Thursday.

The junior shortstop Aiva Arquette has been on fire this season with a .344 batting average heading into the final regular season series. He started in all 51 games this year, leading OSU in home runs (17), RBIs (59), and runs scored (59).

Arquette is currently on the Golden Spikes Award watchlist as well as the Brooks Wallace Award for the best collegiate shortstop.

Similar to Arquette, Gavin Turley has played in all 51 games this season. He is second only to Arquette on the team with a .340 batting average. The junior outfielder has hit 15 home runs this year and 48 in his career.

In 2025 so far, Turley has 56 RBIs, 12 doubles, 45 runs, 41 walks, and three stolen bases.

This is the third time in the last four years that the Beavers have had two semifinalists for this award. If Arquette or Turley win, they will be just the second Beaver to receive this title, the first and only being Adley Rutschman in 2019.

This award is given to the best collegiate player who also exemplifies leadership, moral character, and courage.

The finalists will be unveiled on Thursday, June 7.
