Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were called around 4:09 p.m. to the 1700 block of N. Warman Avenue in response to reports that shots had been fired in the area. The run was later upgraded to a person shot while officers were en route.
IMPD said the new information redirected officers a little over two miles away to the 900 block of W. 10th Street, where they located the victim inside a vehicle suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to an area hospital and was last reported to be in “critical” condition, according to IMPD.
Police initially reported that two people had suffered gunshot wounds. In an update shared around 8:26 p.m. Thursday, IMPD confirmed that only one individual had been shot.
As of this article’s publication, IMPD has not provided any suspect information. FOX59/CBS4 is working to learn more about the circumstances that led to Thursday’s shooting.
