The storm damaged the church on December 28, 2024.
“When the storm happened, we didn’t just come by to the church right that day to see what happened. But we have Sunday school in this church every Sunday. So when we arrived on the Sunday to have Sunday school, we didn’t know what kind of damage was done or anything. We didn’t know the damage,” said Barbara Crenshaw, the financial secretary of the church.
While some church members and the Natchez community have done minor repairs, more work is still needed. The church is now without insurance due to the age and condition of the building.
A GoFundMe has been set up to help the church.
