Man found shot, killed outside New Orleans East home

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Police Department is investigating a homicide in the Plum Orchard neighborhood of New Orleans East.

According to officers, around 11:21 p.m. on Wednesday, May 14, they were alerted of a shooting in the 4500 block of Dodt Avenue. Responding officers arrived to find a man outside a home suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

He was pronounced dead on the scene by EMS.

No further details are available at this time. The NOPD is in the process of gathering evidence and information to determine a possible suspect and motive.

The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will release the victim’s identity after an autopsy is done, and the family is notified.
