
Around 11 p.m., officers saw a black Jeep near Broadway Food & Liquor that had five people inside. Police reported the occupants looked startled and started disobeying traffic laws as the SUV was on 22nd Street.
Authorities eventually pulled the Jeep over at 10th Avenue and 23rd Street and smelled raw cannabis when approaching the vehicle, according to court records.
While searching the Jeep, Officials found four loaded handguns with high-capacity magazines, one with defaced serial numbers, and cannabis.
Zamora, of Belvidere, is charged with aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon with a drum magazine and possession of a weapon without a valid FOID.
Cochran, of Rockford, is charged with unlawful use of a weapon by a felon, unlawful possession of a firearm by a gang member and aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon.
Gilbert, of Harvard, is charged with aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon, unlawful possession of a firearm by a gang member, possession of a firearm with defaced serial numbers, unlawful use of a weapon by a felon and obstructing identification.
The 17-year-old, of Rockford, is charged with aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon without a valid FOID and possession of cannabis.
