American Red Cross & Real Salt Lake host blood drive on May 19th

SANDY, Utah (ABC4 Utah) – The American Red Cross of Utah is teaming up with Real Salt Lake to host a community blood drive on Monday, May 19, 2025. This event is part of a nationwide push to encourage blood and platelet donations during the busy summer months when donor turnout typically decreases.

The Real Salt Lake blood drive will feature exclusive incentives for donors in partnership with the Real Salt Lake soccer club in addition to participating in on-going Red Cross blood donor initiatives.

  • All who donate May 19-31 will receive a limited-edition Red Cross solar lantern perfect for summer camping adventures and emergency kits (while supplies last).
  • Fans who donate at the blood drive on May 19 have the opportunity to win RSL merchandise and souvenirs.
  • In addition, all donors in May are automatically entered to win a U.S trip for two to the destination of their choice. You can learn more about these promotions at RedCrossBlood.org/May.

To counteract the summer struggle for blood donors, Real Salt Lake will be hosting a blood drive with the Red Cross of Utah on May 19 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Interform Club Room at American First Field.

  • The Red Cross offers several ways to schedule an appointment such as, visiting RedCrossBlood.org, using the Red Cross Blood Donor App, or calling 1-800-RED-CROSS (1-800-733-2767).
  • To participate in the Real Salt Lake blood drive, use code RSL when making an appointment.
  • Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are strongly encouraged to ensure a quick and easy donation process.
