'A miracle': Air medics save Aspermont woman after liver failure
SNYDER, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – For two decades, Native Air 39 has served the Big Country, transporting patients to life-saving medical interventions. Among those celebrating the 20th anniversary was Kendra Olson, who thanks the air medics for saving her life when an injury caused her liver to fail.

On February 28, Aspermont resident Kendra was airlifted by Native Air 39 EMS after experiencing acute liver failure. She was transported urgently to receive a life-saving liver transplant.

Kendra’s mom, Mylinda Olson, said that Hendrick Medical initially refused to transport her daughter, but Native Air 39 was able to provide transport.

During the flight, paramedics from Native Air 39 administered a unit of blood to help out Kendra.

“She suffered from an injury that caused her liver to fail. She successfully got transported to the Dallas/Fort Worth area and received a liver transplant within 24 hours,” said Michael Chavez, a crew member with Native Air 39.

Kendra’s family described the experience as nothing short of miraculous.

“I am so grateful… He gave us a miracle… It’s all just been a gift from God,” Mylinda Olson said.

Mylinda was grateful for the swift response from Native Air EMS and the skilled transplant team in Dallas, which allowed Kendra to receive a new liver and begin her journey to recovery.
