30lb catfish caught in Abilene’s Lake Ft. Phantom Hill

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – A 30 pound catfish was caught in Abilene’s Lake Ft. Phantom Hill.

Tanner Jones caught the flathead catfish using shad for bait Tuesday night.

The fish weighed 30 pounds, which is less than half the weight of the biggest flathead catfish ever caught at Lake Ft. Phantom Hill, which according to Texas Parks and Wildlife Records was a whopping 65.5lb-monster caught by Rusty Thompson in 2010.
