NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Police Department is investigating an overnight homicide that happened in New Orleans East.
On Tuesday, May 13, NOPD officers recalled responding to a stabbing in the 9800 block of Morrison Road around 4 p.m.
Upon arrival, officers found a male juvenile suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was taken to a hospital by EMS where he later died from his injuries.
Through an investigation, detectives learned the stabbing stemmed from a fight between the victim and his juvenile brother who allegedly grabbed a knife and stabbing the brother several times.
NOPD officers said the family intervened an called authorities.
The brother was also treated for minor injures sustained during the fight but has since been arrested on a charge of second-degree murder.
The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will release the victim’s identity at a later date.
Anyone with information on the crime can call the NOPD Homicide Unit at 504-658-5300 or Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111.
