A bear is reportedly on the loose in the city of Mountain Home. According to a Baxter County 911 dispatch spokesperson, Arkansas Game and Fish Commission officials are working to track and catch the bear.

A spokesperson with Game and Fish has confirmed the bear is a yearling male looking for a new place to live and possibly in search of food. It is recommended city residents are cautious with putting food out for their pets, filling their bird feeders or leaving trash cans out with any type of food scraps.

Those approached by the bear should remain calm and make themselves appear large.
