Swim like a 10-month-old at a Covington swim school

COVINGTON, La. (WGNO) — May is Water Safety Month.

Thursday, May 15, is International Water Safety Day.

WGNO Good Morning New Orleans features reporter Bill Wood is at Goldfish Swim School in Covington.

From the pools to the lakes around town, this lesson is good to go for the water wherever you decide to go.

“It’s so important because drowning is the third leading cause of death in children ages 1 to 14 years old. Louisiana actually has one of the highest rates of drowning in the country. Swim lessons is such a key,” said Dr. Julie from Lakeview Hospital.

At the swim school, they start lessons as early as four months old.
