Slack outage impacting ability to send messages now resolved

(KRON) — Slack users globally were experiencing issues with connecting to the platform and are unable to load threads, according to the Slack status page. As of 4:03 p.m., the company said it was investigating the issue and may have determined that backend database routing was contributing to “error spikes” with many Slack features.

As of 5:30 p.m., the issue has been resolved, a Slack representative told KRON4.

The Downdetector website indicated a spike in user issues with Slack just before 4 p.m. Monday. Users reported issues with the app, website, and the ability to send messages.

Slack said it was working at identifying impact of the problem, resolving routing issues, and closely monitoring error rates.

The scope of the problem, Slack said, is not regional, and is impacting a percentage of users globally. Issues reported by users include issues booting the client, messages failing to send, channels and threads failing to load, and applications failing to run.

Slack said there were no known workarounds and no estimated time for when the issue would be resolved.
