Oakland Police investigates shootings near Fox Theater

The Oakland Police Department is investigating multiple shootings that took place in the early morning hours of Sunday night near the Fox Theater, Oakland Police Department said in a statement. 

On May 11 just after 1:15 a.m., officers were patrolling the 1700 block of Broadway when they heard several gunshots nearby. Simultaneously, there were multiple ShotSpotter Activations and OPD received several calls about the gunfire. 

When the officers responded to 19th Street and Telegraph Avenue, they found a victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The shooting victim was taken to a nearby hospital by paramedics where they were last listed in stable condition, according to OPD.

Two more victims were privately transported to the hospital. One of them was listed in stable condition while the other was last reported in critical condition.
