IDAHO FALLS – The National Weather Service in Pocatello is warning there is a “slight risk” of severe weather Sunday.
In a weather briefing sent to EastIdahoNews.com, forecasters says “damaging wind” up to 70 mph is the main threat. There’s also an increased chance of hail or a tornado.
The area of impact follows a line from American Falls through the Interstate 15-U.S. 20 corridor and eastward to Island Park, West Yellowstone and western Wyoming.
Showers are expected to continue Sunday morning in some of those areas, with strong to severe storms possibly hitting parts of eastern Idaho between 1 p.m. and 9 p.m.
“Otherwise, still warm and breezy today with quieter weather on Monday before a cold front moves through Monday night,” meteorologists say.
