INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — May 10, 2025 — Alex Palou captured a dominant victory at the Sonsio Grand Prix on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course Saturday, securing his second win of the 2025 NTT INDYCAR SERIES season and extending his lead in the championship standings.
Starting from pole, Palou led 29 laps and fended off a late charge from Pato O’Ward, who finished 5.48 seconds behind in second place. Will Power rounded out the podium in third.
After crossing the finish line, the top three drivers celebrated in traditional style, spraying champagne on the victory podium as fans cheered from the stands.
Palou, driving the No. 10 Dallara-Honda for Chip Ganassi Racing, completed the 85-lap event in 1 hour, 48 minutes, averaging 115.163 mph.
The race saw seven lead changes and one caution. Graham Rahal led a race-high 49 laps but faded to sixth after a late-race strategy call didn’t pay off.
Palou now leads the championship with 248 points as the INDYCAR SERIES turns its attention toward the Indianapolis 500.
