In a press conference on Saturday morning (which can be viewed in the video player above), Clovis Police Chief Curt Fleming revealed that the two suspects arrested were a 16-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl. Due to their ages, their names or any other identifying information were not officially released.
However, Clovis Police Chief Curt Fleming did confirm that both suspects were facing homicide charges and were booked on suspicion of Penal Code 187. Both suspects also attended Clovis Unified schools at the time of the shooting.
Saturday’s announcement by Clovis Police Chief Curt Fleming follows the announcement on Friday that two suspects have been arrested in connection with the deadly shooting of 18-year-old Caleb Quick outside a McDonald’s in Clovis on April 23.
Chief Fleming detailed the timeline of events that led up to the shooting on April 23. The incident began at 7:44 p.m. when a white Tesla was seen pulling up outside the McDonald’s and remaining there for around 28 minutes.
Around 8:33 p.m., surveillance footage shows the male suspect walking towards the McDonald’s and at the same time, the white Tesla arrives back at the McDonald’s parking lot, being driven by the female suspect.

At 8:38 p.m., the suspect enters the McDonald’s; at 8:56 p.m., the suspect follows Caleb Quick and his friends out of the restaurant into the parking lot where the shooting took place.
One minute later at 8:57 p.m., the suspect is seen running westbound on Nees Avenue away from the McDonald’s.

The arrest of the two 16-year-olds comes after a break in the investigation earlier this week when police located a white Tesla thought to have been used in the homicide. The vehicle, which was towed from a home in Fresno, was believed to have transported the suspect away from the crime scene following the shooting.
The white Tesla being towed away for evidence on Tuesday was welcomed by Clovis Hills Community Church Pastor Shawn Beaty, who said that it “does help bring a sense of peace.” The victim attended Clovis Hills Community Church and was described by members of the congregation as having “a brilliant, bright life.”
In a statement, the Clovis Unified School District said that “our hearts go out to the families devastated by this horrible crime that has irreparably changed multiple families’ futures and whose repercussions have resonated throughout our community.”
Clovis Unified added that extra Clovis Unified police officers will also remain deployed at schools “most directly impacted by this tragedy.”
