The Fresno Police Department detectives said they were conducting a follow-up regarding a firearm investigation on April 30. During the investigation, they contacted a man who was not allowed to own or possess firearms.
A search of the home uncovered nine firearms, approximately 60 opium poppy plants (cut and scored), marijuana plants and thousands of various rounds of ammunition, police say. The man was arrested and booked in the Fresno County Jail under suspicion of various weapons and drug-related charges.
According to the police department, evidence from the investigation led to the identification of another suspect related to the firearm sales, leading to another search warrant. On Thursday, during a search of the home, officers found three firearms.
Officers say the man was then arrested and booked into the Fresno County Jail in connection with the weapon-related charges.
Neither suspect was officially identified.
