“We’re delighted at the opportunity to help Valkyries fans travel across the Bay to cheer on this exciting new team,” said Jim Wunderman, Chair of SF Bay Ferry’s Board of Directors. “Hosting the region’s first WNBA team is a testament to the passion and energy of Bay Area sports fans, and we’re proud to be a part of the experience.”
Ferry service to Valkyries games will begin with Friday’s regular season opener on May 16. Ferries serving Valkyries games will depart from Oakland and Alameda approximately one hour before tip-off, the ferry service said.
Return ferries will depart from the Pier 48 Ferry Dock — a short walk from Chase Center — 30 minutes after the final buzzer.
“Arriving by water to watch basketball might be the most ‘Bay Area’ experience possible,” said Golden State Valkyries President Jess Smith. “This ferry service creates a seamless connection between our Oakland and Alameda supporters and our San Francisco home court.”
Reservations for ferry service to Valkyries games is encouraged and can be made on the SF Bay Ferry app or at sfbf.mobi/valkyries.
