OPD said Officer M. Cooper, Officer M. Everett and Officer H. Jimenez were on special assignment at the game. When the match was over, the officers noticed “a man lying on the ground in the parking lot, unresponsive and not breathing.”
Police say officers performed chest-compressions on the man for more than seven minutes and a game attendee, who identified herself as a nurse, jumped in to help.
The man regained a pulse and began breathing, said OPD. Oakland Fire Department emergency responders arrived shortly after and took the man to a local hospital for further treatment.
The time and date of the incident was not provided by OPD in a social media post.
The Oakland Police Department said in the post, “The officers’ actions reflect their dedication and readiness to respond swiftly when every second counts. This incident also highlights the collaboration between first responders and the community during emergencies.”
