Celebrate Military Spouse Appreciation Day in Bossier City

BOSSIER CITY, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – The Bossier Chamber of Commerce, with the Northwest Louisiana Military Support Foundation (NWLA MSF), announced a joint effort with local businesses to celebrate Military Spouse Appreciation Day on Friday, May 9, 2025.

Simply Chic Boutique in Bossier, Rosewood Home and Baby, and Birdwell’s offer a 10-15 percent military discount year-round, but will increase it to 20 percent on Friday to support military spouses.

“We are honored to support the Chamber’s Spouse Appreciation Day and offer our gratitude in a small way for our military families in our community,” said Birdwell’s owner, Angela Pfanner. Spouses can present a valid military ID at checkout for the increased discount.

The NWLA Military Support Foundation is also teaming up with Barksdale Federal Credit Union to offer free drinks at the Brewteaful Café on Barksdale Air Force Base from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m. on May 9.

The Bossier Chamber invites all local businesses to show their support for military spouses this month.

“Military Appreciation Month is a meaningful opportunity for our business community to demonstrate how much we value the service and sacrifices of our military families,” said Krista Augustson, Military Relations Liaison for the Bossier Chamber of Commerce. “While our local businesses support Barksdale Air Force Base and other military units throughout the year, May allows the entire community to come together and show collective gratitude to the spouses and families who serve alongside our military members.”
