CALHOUN, La. (KTVE/KARD) — A Breaux Bridge woman has been arrested in connection with a burglary in Ouachita Parish in December, authorities said.
The Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office responded Dec. 7 to a burglary in progress on Cowboy Lane in Calhoun. Authorities said a witness observed a white Nissan Altima, driven by a female subject, and a male subject allegedly attempting to break into a neighbor’s utility box trailer.

According to officials, the female saw the witness and honked the vehicle horn to warn the male. Once the male saw the witness, he attempted to flee the scene on foot, and the witness chased after him. During the pursuit, the witness heard approximately three to four gunshots come from the male subject, and the Nissan Altima fled the scene.
Authorities said deputies observed the Nissan Altima’s license plate number while viewing video from business cameras in the area. According to deputies, the vehicle picked up the male subject in a nearby parking lot after the shooting.
Investigators said the vehicle was rented from a company in Lafayette, which provided deputies with GPS coordinates of the car.
Deputies then learned that the vehicle was rented by Ciera A. Gordon, 28, of Breaux Bridge. Gordon was questioned by investigators and allegedly denied having knowledge of the incident; however, authorities identified her as the driver of the vehicle through video footage and a warrant was issued for Gordon’s arrest.
Gordon was arrested Thursday and charged with accessory after the fact, authorities said. Booking or bond details were not released.
