Salem police: Fight at The Cue Ball pool house led to stabbing death of young man

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – A fight at a pool house in Salem led to the death of a young man early Thursday morning, according to police.

Officers responded to the Salem Health emergency room around 1 a.m. after hearing that two stabbing victims had arrived “in need of immediate medical care.”

An investigation revealed the stabbings took place during “a physical altercation between a group of young men at The Cue Ball” on State Street.

“One of the individuals who was stabbed, 21-year-old Isac Steven Rizo of Salem, died from his injuries at the hospital,” police said. “A second victim, a 20-year-old man, received treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.”

Police said Rizo’s death will be investigated as a homicide. Anyone with information about the fight is encouraged to contact Salem police.
