The design is the result of a survey that asked students what makes them proud of Rockford.
“It’s cultural diversity, community. A sense of taking care of the environment and sustainability. And then play. You know, like high energy. Just sports and other artist reliefs and things like that,” Eckhardt said.
There’s also a portion of the mural for students to leave their own, personal touches.
The artwork is part of the All-District Mural Project.
