ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Rockford Police arrested Anton Ballard, 49, for burglarizing H&A Tobacco and Discount early Tuesday morning.

Around 4:30 a.m., officers responded to the shop on Broadway after reports of an alarm going off in the business.
Authorities determined that the suspect entered the shop through the front door, and a cash register was missing.
Ballard was identified as the suspect during an investigation and was taken into custody on unrelated charges, according to police.
Ballard is currently in the Winnebago County Jail on charges of burglary.
