ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Rockford Police arrested Larry Wilkins, 28, for hitting a man with a metal lid multiple times, according to a witness.
On April 28, authorities were called to the Rockford Rescue Mission on West State Street for reports of a violent attack. The incident started when Wilkins threatened the senior, according to court records.

A witness told officers that Wilkins proceeded to hit the victim multiple times with the lid of a garbage can.
Video, viewed by police, showed the suspect attacking the 66-year-old, court records show.
Wilkins is charged with aggravated battery of a victim over the age of 60.
