Man, 24, arrested in connection to 2021 homicide in Grand Crossing

CHICAGO (WGN) — A Chicago man is in police custody years after alleging shooting a killing a man in the city’s Grand Crossing neighborhood.

Chicago police on Wednesday announced the arrest of 24-year-old Jamond Brown, of Chicago. According to police, authorities identified Brown as the alleged gunman who shot and killed a 27-year-old male on Dec. 13, 2021 in the 6400 block of S. Martin Luther Jr. King.

Members of the Chicago Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force took Brown into custody on Monday, May 5 in the 2600 block of S. California.

Brown faces a first-degree murder charge in connection with the slaying.
