The new station, which operates 24/7, is located outside CACC at 2741 S. Western Ave.
“Anybody who has pets can use the station,” said Susan Cappello, Acting Executive
Director of Chicago Animal Care and Control. “If you find a lost dog or cat, you can bring
them here, scan for a chip, and potentially helping to reunite them with their family. And if
you’re a pet owner and don’t remember your pet’s chip number, or need it to update your
contact info, this is a quick way to get it.”
The process is below, per CACC.
CACC attached the following flyer more tips on how to scan a microchip for a lost animal.
The station was made possible thanks to a donation from Friends of Chicago
Animal Care and Control.
