50 Cent visits Governor Jeff Landry at the Louisiana State Capitol
LOUISIANA (KTAL/KMSS) — Rapper and entrepreneur Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson is staying busy in Louisiana, and he’s not just here for the photo ops.
On Wednesday, May 8, Jackson met with Governor Jeff Landry to discuss new projects in the state. But before the day was over, the Grammy winner made time to join the governor for a surprise stop to visit students at Catholic High of New Iberia.
“It was great to spend some time with @50cent today, discussing economic development projects in Louisiana.” Landry shared on X.
Jackson’s been making headlines, and this time it’s not for his music.
He is establishing G-Unit Studios, a full-scale film and television production facility that will be based in Shreveport. This initiative aims to revitalize Shreveport’s entertainment industry and generate new job opportunities for the local community
Local officials have called his projects “a boost” to the region’s economy.
And fans? According to social media, they are just excited to see someone betting big on the city.
From studio lots to high school drop-ins, 50 Cent seems to be everywhere lately.
But here in Louisiana, he’s starting to look less like a guest and more like a neighbor.
